H Man

Finally some pics of Henry at the crazy 2 stage!

His favorite pony ride.....when mom isn't watching.  Let this one time slide to capture the proof for Olie later in life when he tries to retell stories of his big bro "loving" on him!

"Henryisms"

We wanted to brain dump all the funny and new things our little man Henry is doing lately.  He just brings so much laughter to our lives.  How blessed we are!  So here it goes....

- If we don't answer him with his "dada" or "mommy" fast enough he now knows our names and isn't shy about shouting out a "Chris" or "Misty."  And, I didn't like being called mom so soon...haahaa.  He also knows his grandparents names and several other family members.  Cracks me up.
- He loves to introduce himself...saying things like "Hi Olie it's me Henry"
- He insists on his window being down through the Starbucks drive thru and loves his pumpkin bread.  Thanking and hamming it up for the baristas every single time!
- Might be the most polite 2 year old I have ever met....seriously says thank you and please a lot!  He even thanks me when he helps me out.  Heehee
- When I ask him if he had fun today he replies with, "So did mommy."  Makes me laugh every time.
- He loves his dinosaurs and knows the names of TRex, Triceratops, Brochisaurus (sp?), Stegosaurus and loves to growl in his little brothers face to scare him awake.  Sweet.
- He seriously loves his brother so much and tells him, "Bubby I love you" and hugs him and slaps a big wet kiss all over his face, and I mean all over his face.  He also has started calling Oliver "bub," which he made up all by himself.
- We just started a weekly parent/child co-op preschool together and it just melts my heart when he says, "play with mommy at preschool today mommy"  I love that he loves spending time with his mama!
- He has started counting a lot but 4, 5 and sometimes 6 do not exist.  He can go all the way up to 14 but we have no clue where 4 and 5 went?!?  Not lookin' like he will be in advanced math anytime soon. ;o) He also out of the blue counted to 3 in Spanish....thanks Dora! ;o)
- He started sleeping in his new twin size race car bed at the beginning of the month and we have developed a new bedtime ritual of what he calls "getting cozy."  We climb in his bed together, read some books and get cozy together.  LOVE bedtime with little H!  He leaned over one morning when we were snuggling and put his cheek to mine and said, "I love you mommy."  A memory I will hold near and dear to my heart forever.
- On his birthday he started to perfect walking on both tippie toes at once....weirdest and funniest thing I have seen in a long time!  Video coming soon I hope!
- He has become the world's worst and cutest alarm clock!  Coming in to wake me up saying, "mommy wake up! Ding ding!"  over and over again until I get out of bed.  So much for a slow relaxing start to the day.
- He loves to take his pots and pans and bang them and march through the house.  Pretty awesome when you have a 5 month old who wants to sleep too!
- We attended his very first professional puppet show on his actual birthday and he really wanted to sit next to this little girl.  He kept scooting his butt closer and closer to her.  As he would scoot closer she would scoot away.  This went on forever.  So funny to watch him.  He never gave up!  Such a ladies man.
- As we are getting ready for bed we go brush our teeth and he now asks to sit on the potty.  He just sits up there and has to have a piece of toilet paper to pretend wipe.  No peeing or pooing action is happening but he is getting to know the potty and isn't one bit afraid of it.  Not sure if he is fully ready to potty train just yet.  I know I'm not ready to take that on yet with a 5 month old at home too.
- He thinks Mt. Rainier name is Mt. Reindeer teehee
- We are guilty of telling our dog Hogan to "shutup" as he barks a lot.  Lesson learned to clean up our mouths as Henry is now saying, "Shut up Hogan" and just recently said, "Shut up mommy."  So not ok with that! On that note, we have started time outs.  He will finish time out without getting up.  But, I'm not sure it's teaching him anything.  He loves the end of timeout where he gets to say sorry and give kisses.  I may be asking for some pointers on timeouts here soon.
- Henry's doc said that 2 year olds should be able to speak in 2 word sentences and 3 word sentences by the age of 3.  Well I have to say I am one proud mama as Henry speaks in 4 to 5 words sentences that actually make sense all the time.  I love being able to have conversations with him. He truly is the funniest person I know and tells me he is funny all the time. ;o)

This list could go on for miles.  Henry you continue to be a light to the world around you.  Your big smile and big heart are felt by every single person you encounter.  I thank my lucky stars for you every single day and cannot wait to make more memories with you.  Mommy loves you bigger than the sky!

Play time!

Over the weekend we soaked up some of the sunshine and played outside as a family.  It's been a really long time since all 4 of us were able to get outside and enjoy our yard together.  We had such a blast watching Henry give his lil' bubby a ride around the yard in his tractor trailer, Olie taking his first swing and umbrella stroller ride and just a fun day soaking up some sunshine together.
