Hello again

I cannot believe I have gone so long without updating our blog.  Life is simply insanely busy and I am still struggling to find a spare moment to even take a shower.  Our little new addition to the family has proven to be quite the hand full.  He is a bit of an attention hog and does not like to sleep on his own.  I have tried everything.  Nothing works.  The cry out has been attempted several times and he works himself up so bad that he pukes everywhere...and I mean everywhere.  So bad he has to be thrown in the bath.  The modified cry out doesn't work either.  Swaddle, no swaddlem noise machine, positioner....you name it we've tried it.  Any suggestions out there?  I'm dying over here for some sleep.

On another note, Henry is about to become a 2 year old!  I cannot believe it.  What a beautiful 2 years it has been.  He continues to be one vibrant, smart little boy.  Words cannot express the spark he brings to the world every single minute of every day.  How did we get so lucky?  I mean really, he just lights up the room with one little smile.  His vocabulary just blows us away.  His love of jumping around the house just makes me giggle.  Listening to him read out loud just warms my heart.  Witnessing the love he has for his baby brother and what a little helper he has become is like nothing I can ever explain. But my favorite time of the day is still and I think always will be bed time.  Our special moments together snuggling, reading, saying our prayers and as he says "getting cozy."  I love our "noses" kisses and the pure love I feel from this little boy.  No matter how hard the day may have been that 15 minutes just cures it all and reminds me how lucky we truly are.  Just the other night he leaned over put his cheek to my cheek and said, "mommy I love you."  I will forever remember that beautiful moment. Thank you Henry for an incredible 2 years.  I cannot wait to continue this beautiful journey hand and hand with you.  I love you bigger than the sky.

Sweet little Oliver (yes even though he doesn't sleep he is still a pretty sweet baby) is about to be 5 months old!  Wow...almost a half year already?!?  Where oh where has the time gone?  He just loves to be held, talked to, bounced, kissed and adores his big brother.  He however hates the car...I mean HATES the car.  One thing mommy really really hopes goes away very soon.  He too has the sparkle in his eye like his big brother and that smile is just too cute.  It's fun to watch him start to enjoy his toys and turn his head as far as he can get it to see the tv..uh oh!  He is getting very strong and almost can do a tripod sit.  He's rolled over a couple times but I don't know if it was a fluke or not as it's not a constant motion he has achieved yet.  And, believe it or not he just had his first hair cut!  A 4 1/2 month old getting a hair cut?  Yeah, nothing I would have expected.  But the kid has hair like I have never seen before.  It's super curly when wet.  But when it's dry it has a life of it's own spiking out and swirling in every direction.  So funny.  To sum up I am enjoying our cuddle sessions but I will be honest I cannot wait to be able to sit and really play with both my boys at the same time and watch them play together.  Being so close in age is going to be fun eventually I just know it! ;o)

Anyway, until next time (and I will try my best to be better at posting more often) here are some of my favorite pics:

Have you tried Happiest Baby on the Block? You might be able to get the video at the library. Fritter was a little difficult at sleeping too, and we did Babywise with him, but it was a struggle (he didn't puke everywhere though). I'd say really just pick something and then be uber consistent with it. It could take as much as 10 days of total consistency to see any changes. He'll get it eventually. Another thing you could try is to log his sleep times, and awake times, ect to see if you can find a pattern. This was another thing that helped with Fritter, and if I remember right, it was at about the same age. And have you thought about reflux? Maybe that's why he's not sleeping, and it could explain the puking when he gets upset. You could try keeping him upright for about 30 minutes after he eats to see if that helps. Sorry, a lot of advice. Feel free to not use any of it. ;-)
