Sun Lakes

This past weekend we took Henry on his first camping/fishing trip to Sun Lakes in Eastern Washington. Chris has been going with his family & dad's buddies since he was a baby. Every year we look forward to this weekend and have been so excited to share this with Henry. We had a great weekend (actually got some sleep!) and can't wait for future Sun Lakes adventures with our expanding family. First boat ride (driving the boat is more like it) and first fish All in a very uncomfortable life jacket...poor kid!The next generation of kids (Ayla, Henry and Titan)
Ayla catching her first fish with her mommy AliciaLots of time to practice my t-ball swing! (Henry actually knows how to put the ball on the stand and swing...very cute and exciting for dad!) We also discovered he is quite the little soccer player and loves to mow lawns. ;o)
Other firsts this trip....first taste of a vanilla soft serve ice cream cone. Mom had to dip his paci in it first for him to realize it was something he could not resist! After that he enjoyed the cone with mama. He saw the moon for the first time and started calling it a ball. I guess it kind of does look like a ball up in the sky. Too cute. He also had his first french fry after a long road trip home and loved it. Now back to healthy eating for us all. ;o)

15 Months....what's new

Henry turned 15 months yesterday. Part of the reason why I love this blog is to look back on what was happening during each milestone. So here is a quick update to last months "what's new with little H"

- He found a few new hiding spots for his toys, mom & dad's stuff, basically whatever he decides needs to go in to the garbage can, dirty diaper pail in his room or laundry hampers. Always a surprise waiting for mom to find!
- He just put his first two words together with "Bye Dada." Absolutely melted our hearts. He adores his daddy so much it's simply incredible to sit back and watch.
- Mom says "make a fish face" and he tries his best to copy mom but has created a whole new lip look of his own. (Photo to come on this soon I hope)
- New words: Bird, Hat, Down, Doggy (instead of just dog), Daddy (instead of just dada), Boo, Wow, Uh oh.
- He is still a major head butter. When he's mad or just being silly. Normal....not sure yet?!?
- Has figured out to throw a ball forward not just backwards now! Just moved up the hoop and we have started t-ball practice with dad. ;o)
- Diaper changes are a full on wrestling match....seriously has become a part of our day we dread and mom/dad have to negotiate who is going to take on the next match! The idea of two kids in diapers is starting to scare us....
- He now has 11 teeth (3 molars just popped out and #4 should be here any day! What a pain, literally!)
- He recognizes his nauna & bapa's house and nana's car and gets very excited when we pull up. Very sweet how much he just loves them.
- After a cold hit our house nauna started him on "do your nose" with his own kleenex and he caught right on. He thinks it's more funny than anything. But at least he gets the idea.
- Last but not least, you amaze mommy and daddy every single day. We cannot even begin to express how proud and loved you are. You simply are the light of our lives and look forward to each morning as we start a new day with you. Love you little monkey!

21

Today I had a check up with the doc and of course an ultrasound. We are 21 weeks 1 day and baby#2 is doing great! Measuring at the 65% percentile and just over 1lb. The 2 vessel (vs. 3) umbilical cord does not seem to be causing any complications to the growth thus far and we don't expect it to. The hemmorhage is also gone, or so small they cannot find it! Yeah! As long as baby continues to grow at an average weight we are good to go. At 32 weeks we will start to see if any excessive damage to the placenta was done due to the hemmorhage as the baby is much larger at that point which means less placenta to pull from and can effect the growth of the baby. If any decline occurs in growth after 26 weeks we will be in delivery. However, everything looks good right now so we are very hopeful and getting really excited for our family to expand to 4! We have another ultrasound in a month and get to check in on the little one. Here are the first ultrasound pics I have shared online. The first is the profile and the second is of the baby looking directly at you (kind of creepy in these black/white images!) But, still oh so very cute and special. :o)

Then & Now

So here it goes.....the belly has arrived in full force! Seriously just "popped" out of no where! Here's a glimpse at Henry and baby#2 around the same point in the pregnancy. Boy or girl in there? I have no idea one way or the other...all I see is belly. A way bigger belly at this point than last time. Sigh. 20 weeks with Henry:
Baby#2 at 20 1/2 weeks..and yes I totally got dressed up for the pic. It's 1st year molar time in our house, which equals lack of sleep around here. No time for dress up. ;o)

Easter

Easter was an absolute blast with Henry this year. He loved his 3 baskets (yes, I said 3!) and 2 easter egg hunts. He actually found eggs and was very excited to shake and crack them open to see what kind of prize was waiting inside. You can tell by several of the photos below just how excited he was. We are loving holidays with a little one to share all the excitement with. Keeps getting better and better! Love being a parent. Truly the best gift in the world.

Getting ready for my first egg hunt. Is this how you hold a basket mom? You know like you hold that bag all the time?
Opening my first egg! How did the Easter bunny know I love socks!
I think I see one under the couch...
Wait they aren't under the couch they are in my secret hiding spot...how did the Easter bunny know?!? Need to find a new spot for hiding daddy's remote now.
I found 2 more!
All smiles with my nauna:
All excited for my second egg hunt at Grandpa's with daddy!
Come on dad we have to hurry before the big kids get all the eggs!
Found one!Mommy's attempt to be Martha Stewart with flower decorated chocolate cupcakes

Where did my baby boy go?

Grandma Carol gave Henry a haircut yesterday and man does he look different. My baby is gone and a little boy has taken his place! I keep finding myself staring at him wondering what happened?!? Such a handsome little man. Mommy will admit she does like the longer hair and will likely keep it a tad longer to keep a glimpse of my baby for awhile! Calling to tell everyone about his new do....

Mommy & Me

Today I decided to take a little adventure with Henry and try going on a lunch date with just him and I. We have been out to restaurants with other people several times but never just the two of us. So, we packed up and headed to Red Robin. He LOVED it. We had such a great lunch together laughing, eating tons and mommy taking in just how grown up our little man is getting. After lunch we decided to walk down to the Kid Quest Museum for a little play time. On the way there we ran into the Easter Bunny. I let Henry walk in front of me to see what he would do as I have always heard kids are afraid of over sized stuffed animals walking around. But, not our kid. He walked right into the photo booth, thank goodness no other kid was getting their picture taken as he would have surely made the photo, and stood right in front of the bunny and started talking to him. So funny. I wasn't prepared for Easter photos but thought what the heck who cares if he has food all over his face and is not in his Sunday best as he surely will ham it up for the camera, and that he did! After we played at the museum for about an hour I was carrying him out and he leaned over and gave me a big kiss on the cheek. Man that's all it takes to make my heart melt. We had such a perfect date and I can't wait to have many more dates with little H in the days, months and years to come!
