Happy Birthday Nana!

Today (Friday Sept. 19th!) is my beautiful mommy's birthday! Have a wonderful day and may all your wishes come true. I love you so very much!

I Owe It All To Mother!
It’s your birthday, Mom.So I will raise a cheer. For without you, wondrous person,I would not be here.
Yes, I owe it all to you, Mom.From the time that I was small,You encouraged me in everything,And tried not to let me fall.
Throughout my life your caring,Brightened each and every minute. You loved me and enriched my life,And I’m so glad to have you in it!

On another note, I am now on my way to Orange County to join the celebration for Carrie Huzar's Wedding! Here is a pic of my mom, Carrie and I at our wedding. Huzar and I have known eachother since we were 12 years old....crazy how grown up we are now!

Bathroom Remodel Complete!

Our bathroom is finally done and looks fantastic! These pics just really does not do it justice but here are some before, during and after shots. I am so thrilled with the results and can't wait to get it all set up! This is going to be our little guys bathroom when he gets bigger....so glad to have it all cleaned up before he arrives!

Good Daddy Moment

So I was showing Chris some of the clothes I bought our little guy and he looked at a pair of these really cute NIKE sweatpants I got and said, "Babe it's going to be in the winter isn't he going to be cold in shorts?" I just looked at him and started laughing. He then realized the little "shorts" he was looking at were actually pants. Guess he doesn't realize just how small he will be. Too cute!

DRUM ROLL.....

WE ARE HAVING A BOY!!!!!!!!

Everything went perfect at the doctor today. Mom and baby are right on schedule and healthy as can be! His little heart beat is around 135 beats and is weighing a whole pound now! Chris had the ultrasound tech check at least 4 times to make sure it was a boy. He said, "I just want to be sure. I don't want to get excited and then find out it's not a boy!" Her response was great, she said. "You will be excited no matter what!" Haa haa. But, he got his wish. We are having the first grand baby and it's a boy just like we hoped for! We now will work on finding the perfect name, top of the list is Henry Daniel Carpinito. But, we are still thinking this one through...stay tuned! The ultrasound pics are not great but here is a sneak preview of our little guy.

Oh, and yes I did do a pit stop at Babies R Us on my way home. Couldn't help myself! Whoever said you can't find cute boy clothes is crazy...I did just fine (3 bags later...oops!)

Profile View w/ body and hand (Hi Mom!):

Profile View: Yep, he's a boy! See the pointy triangle in the left hand corner....that's his goods. LOL You are seeing a bottom view, a leg, a foot, part of his tailbone and then the jewels!

Could It Be?

Yesterday my mother-in-law tested out her trusty gender testing on me (an old wives tale). She did this for all four of her boys, her sisters children and a ton of her friends. And, from what she says it has never failed! I on the other hand am not fully convinced...but it is still fun to try. Basically, you have a sharpened pencil, a pin (not a pen like I thought) and a string. You take the string and tie it around the pin, push it into the eraser of the pencil. You then have someone steady their arm and drop the tied pencil to sit right in front of your belly at a complete stand still. Over the next minute or so the pencil will start moving. It will either move in a circle or back and forth like a pendulum. If it moves in a circle it is a girl. And if it moves back and forth it is a boy. She did this on me 3 times, the first 2 times went into a circle and the 3rd time about an hour later it didn't move at all (maybe she was sleeping!). So, could it be....is this a little girl we are having?!? Place your bets as the countdown has begun...only 1 day away until the results are in! I am so excited I can barely think about anything else, especially after spending the afternoon at my friends Tony & Tara's daughters 3rd bday party yesterday. Everywhere I turned there was a baby just dying to be held! Needless to say I was in heaven!

Oh and we finally sold my car!!!!! So excited to have this taken care of...we were getting worried we wouldn't find any takers! Phew!

HALF WAY THERE!

20 down, 20 to go!! I have officially hit the half way mark of pregnancy of 20 weeks and am feeling fantastic! I only have 3 more sleeps until I find out the sex of our baby!! Later today I am headed over to see my mother-in-law to test out an old wives tale of identifying the sex. All I know at this point is that it involves a pen, pencil and string...I think. So I will fill you in later today on exactly what this one tells us. I still think it's a little boy in there...but really I am going to be thrilled either way. I just can't wait to meet this little one. It is a crazy to feel your baby inside of you. It literally feels like something is flopping over inside your belly...which is probably what is happening. Chris still hasnt been able to feel it yet but I am sure he soon will as they are getting stronger and stronger. But for now it's my little special secret with our baby. Really nice to share a moment with just you and your baby for awhile. But, I am happy to share all these moments with dad too.

On another note, my mom (or nana) and I went to the Phantom of the Opera to celebrate her upcoming birthday last night. I will miss her actually bday as I will be down in Orange County for Huzar's Wedding so wanted to do something extra special. It was an amazing show. I hadn't been to the Paramount since I was little for the Peter Pan play and I just can't believe how beautiful it is. We had a wonderful girls night out on the town. I feel so lucky to have such an incredible mom. She really has been everything and more that a daughter could ask for and I just know our baby will get the same if not more love and support from her. Very lucky baby indeed!

Also, nana and I both recently bought new cars. As you know I got an Acura MDX and I LOVE IT! Nana just picked up her new Volvo Turbo this week...it's gorgeous! Baby is going to be stylin' and super safe in both of these rides. :o)

Last update...you know that wedding commercial I did. Well, as you noticed I never posted the link as I am way too embarressed. I thought most of my friends are married, close to married or really far from it so no one will be at the wedding expos! Guess I didnt take in account that the convention center is right next to Safeco and Seahawk Stadium. Yep...two co-workers were headed to games over the weekend and stepped out of the elevator to see me plastered on the LCD screens on two different occassions! So my plan of hiding out didnt work..oh well, it served as a good laugh at work!

19 Weeks!

I am so excited to just have one more week until I get into the "2's" and hit the half way mark. Only 9 more days until we find out the sex! I could find out right now but my doctor is on vacation and we wanted to wait until he returns. So, the waiting continues....which I better get used to as I will be doing a lot of waiting in the next 20 weeks! I have been feeling the baby move around a lot lately. It's really amazing and weird at the same time.

We also have contractors at our house today starting our bathroom remodel! Very exciting as I have been wanting to tear it up for so many years now. Once it is done I will post before and after pictures...which should be about 10 days from now. So until then, Chris and I are sharing a bathroom...neither one of us are very excited about that! He asked me last night, "does that mean you are moving into my bathroom?" I said well where do you expect me to go? And, he then looked all big eyed and said "you are not moving all your stuff in right?" LOL Luckily I have a vanity and will use that to get ready and just have to do basic showering, etc in his special place. He was so funny about this and has gotten used to having all the drawers to himself. Guess this will teach him to share his space/time a bit more since baby will definitely require that oh so very soon!

Anyway, have a wonderful weekend and enjoy the last weeks of beautiful sunshine for those of you in Seattle! My dad is coming into town from Kentucky and I am very excited to have some good daddy time! Yes, I still say mommy and daddy...hmmm, does that ever stop? ;o)
